David Emanuel, The Green Skirt

The Emanuel's of course are known for making Diana's dress.. but what else did they make.
Well they made this skirt :)
Not too long ago, my Auntie gave me this 80's vintage Emanuel skirt which is pure silk with a netting and lace under skirt which is beautiful!
Unfortunately I've never had the chance to wear it and probably never will unless I happen to go to a some sort of ball or something haha.
So i'm selling it on eBay! But I thought I should let you have a look at it too!

If your interested in buying, let me know! Or just go straight to the page on eBay..

Camden Town

Happy Friday everyone!
So, yesterday I took a trip to London with my brother, Daniel.
We were meant to just go and see a show (The Complete Works of Williams Shakespeare (Abridged) and I don't think I've ever laughed so much.. you can see it at the New Red Lion Theatre for £10!
But we took a detour to Camden, one my favourite places in London and I helped my brother shop for his girlfriend whilst I did a little shopping for myself :)
I thought that this would be a good opportunity to show a green and maroon floral  vintage dress which was brought from a charity shop for only £2!  ....
A Silly Face and Camden Lock

Cream and Black Bag (Next 29.99)

Shoes; ASOS (£29.99)
Rings! If you haven't been to Camden market, they have lots of tribal shops and this one had really nice gold rings..I brought one too but it's already left my finger green! Nail polish is needed!

This was the pattern of the dress, pretty right? and then I wore a black and gold belt (H&M 5.99)

This was a random post, but I thought I'll let you know what's going on atm!
Tell me what you think and follow :)

Sleeping Beauty; Katy Perry

I love this woman for her style, music and just about everything else she does BUT now she's the new face for GHD hair products!
The shoot was done a while ago but I still wanted to do a post about it.. it basically consists of hairstyles and clothing through the eras of the 50's, 70's and 80's.
I've found some similar items so you can try and recreate the look yourself!

'Sleeping Beauty woke up in the fifties, when locks were as glamorous as the frocks'

She looks fabulous here with short 50s curled hair and pink chiffon prom dress, I've found 3 similar dress which can be brought from Miss Selfridge and Rokit for affordable prices (click on the caption to take you to the website for purchasing)

Coral Pleated Dress                        1950's Pale Pink Prom Dress                      Pink Ballet Dress

'Sleeping Beauty woke up in the boho seventies, when parties were wild but hair was relaxed'

I might do another hair tutorial for this look! But going back to the style, high knee boots are in the autumn so have a look!
                    Suede Knee High Wedge Boots

'Sleeping Beauty woke up in the eighties, when New Wave was big but the hair was bigger'

And the last look! It's quite striking and over the top but bright colours are popular this summer so there's no harm trying?

Tell me what you think, drop in a message! Lovexxx

Rock 'n' (sort of) Roll

My holidays haven't started yet but I'm off this week for 'work experience' so I will have lots of time to post!
This weekend just gone, my friend had a birthday party at his house and he had asked musicians and friends if they want to play some songs. So there were about 9 bands which played that night, and my friends Sadie (bass) and Sam (guitar) agreed to do a small set with me.
Have a look at 'boyfriend' by Best Coast and 'June Gloom' by the Like which were the songs we sung.
But anyway, this isn't a blog about music so I'll show what I wore and hopefully it'll give you ideas if your stuck on what to wear to a gig or any other occasion! (by the way, excuse the embarrassing facial expressions)

Boyfriend

 Boyfriend

The shorts are from a car boot sale, but you can find similar ones on ASOS in the sale which are now only £15!

And then I just paired them with a black belt and tights
You can't see my shoes unfortunately but I had just bought them off ASOS for £30 and they are basically black velvet pumps..
I thought they were quite pretty :)
And then the corduroy corset was basically a strapless dress from the H&M sale ages ago! So I just got the skirt off basically which can easily be done!
So yeah, I haven't had time to post videos of tutorials or singing for that matter but I should when the summer holidays start!

Sweet Seventeen

G'day vintage lovers!
Today I was getting one of those fish spa pedicures (strangest experience I've ever had on my feet :| but worth it! ), so while I was waiting for the pedicure I was reading the magazines they have on display and one of them featured a small print of seventeen magazine in the 60's so when I got home I did a little research on some of the beautiful covers with the women and models of the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Don't worry, I'm not going to just post the pictures and say 'aren't they nice?' I've found some similar items so you can get the look yourself :)
P.S. just hover the mouse over the words in red and it's a link which takes you straight to where you can purchase the item..
The Green Skirt; 1965
Buy this green skirt from Romwe for £14.75 and just pair it with a black belt!
Bangs and Sequin Dress; 1966
If you need something classy and glamorous and are willing to splash out?
Then this Red Valentino dress (£257.50) should be worth it..
Poncho time; 1970
This poncho from H&M is extremely similar and has an aztec effect too..
Red Polka Dot; 1964
I absolutely love this Audrey inspired look, this shift red polka top is similar to the same styled dress which I picked out from the ASOS marketplace which allows vintage lovers to sell there items for good prices! Have a look around..

Lala, hope you liked some of the items I picked out, leave a comment and tell me what you think guys! I'd like to have some feedback and any requests on inspired looks xxxx

'Shoes, let's get some shoes'

'Everytime I wear heels I always feel happy.. they sound nice' - Carrie Bradshaw
And I agree. Unless there ridiculously high and I'm conscious of whether I'm going to embarrass myself, I normally feel more confident.
Wedges, platforms, block heels and kitten heels (which I'm not really fond of) are all popular this summer and apparently this autumn according to Topshop and ASOS.
Now before I ramble on suggesting shoes to get, another one of my tips is to use Gel Cushions
They have saved my feet many times and if a good amount of alcohol won't cover up the pain of heels; these certainly will! They can be bought from Superdrug and Boots from 3.99-4.99 and are reusable!
Now, shoe gazing..

Gorgeous aren't they? These are from Romwe at only £28.87 and they ship worldwide! Similar to Jessica Simpson's Dany collection too. However, you won't see me wearing these from Romwe because they unfortunately only go up to a size 6.5 whereas I am a 7 :(

Another one of Romwe's finest are these 70's orange chunky block heels which are £36.57.. hurry there selling out!
ASOS lovers need to look at there new shoes! These gorgeous blue heeled sandals are lovely however there £65 but the color can go with almost anything.. practically saving you money, eh?
Wanting them in a bright color? They have them in an a clashing vibrant pink and red..
Now, you need to start buying from H&M online! The sales are better and they have new arrivals which aren't in the stores yet!
These 1950's inspired wedges would be great if your trying to be casual and summery..
Right, I really wanted to get a post up today just to even give you a bit of inspiration on shoes or something..I'll try and update some more tomorrow. xxx
